Privacy policy

Who we are

Turno (“we”) provides an AI front desk for restaurants: it answers calls and chats, takes reservations and manages tables on behalf of the restaurants that use it (“customers”). This policy explains how we handle personal data on this website and in the service. Contact: hello@turno.ai.

Two roles

  • For this website and for the accounts of our customers, Turno is the data controller.
  • For guests who call or chat with a restaurant that uses Turno, the restaurant is the controller and Turno processes data on its instructions. Guests should read the restaurant’s own privacy notice; this policy explains what happens on the Turno side.

What we collect

  • Website visitors: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, through privacy-preserving analytics. No advertising trackers.
  • Customer accounts: name, work email, phone, restaurant details, billing information (handled by Stripe; we never store card numbers).
  • Guests, on behalf of a restaurant: the content of calls and chats (including transcripts and, where the restaurant enables it, audio), name, phone number, email, party size, dates and preferences needed for a reservation, and the outcome of the conversation.

Why we process it

  • To run the service: answer, book, confirm, remind, transfer to staff.
  • To let restaurants review what happened: transcripts, summaries, bookings.
  • To keep the service secure and reliable, and to improve it using aggregated, de-identified information.
  • To bill customers and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use guest conversations to train third-party AI models.

Legal bases

Performance of a contract with our customers; legitimate interest in running and securing the service; consent where required (for example, call recording notices under local law); legal obligations for billing and tax.

Who processes data for us

We rely on service providers under data-processing agreements: hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel, Google Cloud), telephony (Telnyx), AI models (OpenAI and other model providers), vector search (Qdrant), email (Resend), payments (Stripe), analytics and monitoring (PostHog, Sentry, Langfuse), DNS (Cloudflare). Data is stored in the United States; transfers from the EU rely on standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Conversation transcripts and bookings are kept for as long as the restaurant keeps its account, unless it deletes them earlier. Audio recordings, where enabled, are kept for 90 days by default. Account data is deleted within 30 days of closing an account, except what we must keep for tax and legal reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Guests should send requests to the restaurant; we will help it respond. Customers and website visitors can write to hello@turno.ai.

Changes

We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes to how we treat customer data will be announced to customers by email.
